Snowshoe Vineyard & Farm, LLC is part experiment and part whimsical-dream. We are not a farm in the traditional sense of having acre upon acre of expanse. Instead, we are located on the ¼ acre that we, the Jokela’s, call home. We grow vegetables each season, we grow Frontenac grapes, various kinds of hops, several species of ribes - including jostaberries, currants and gooseberries - raspberries, strawberries, asparagus, rhubarb, and apples…to name a few things.
Along with the berries and vegetables, we also operate Snowshoe Apiaries; a very small, sustainable, non-migratory beekeeping operation. We try to tend our bees in a natural and healthy fashion; avoiding the use of pesticides and overworking of the bees.
If you are interested in purchasing 100% pure honey, it is generally available from late summer through the end of the year. Pickup (or drop off) is always an option - drop us an email - honey@snowshoe-farm.com. If you are interested in purchasing beeswax soap, again, drop us an email - honey@snowshoe-farm.com, we have a variety available, and if for some reason we do not have what you are interested in, we might be able to make a batch for you.
Or, give us a call - 218.262.9988. Just a leave a brief description of what you are interested in along with your name and phone number; we will get back to you quickly. (note: this is a voicemail-only number; please, leave a message).
